Theatre Company Knee Presents
Homeland
A New Play by HeeJin Kim

“I just want to start a new life in this country. I worked so hard you know, to f*cking survive.”

Theatre Company Knee presents the world premiere of Homeland, a comedy-drama that explores the idea of home from the perspective of recent migrants to the UK.

Written by award-winning Korean Playwright HeeJin Kim and featuring an all-female, all migrant cast, this intimate but hilarious play provides a unique insight into the struggles and the persistence of immigrants trying to build a new life in the UK. Inspired by conversations with real immigrant females and partly multi-lingual with English subtitles, this play aims to depict the multi-layered complexity of the migrant experience.

Theatre Company Knee is an international theatre company with previous production credits in Japan. Credits include: BOT(2019), THERE IS A DOG IN MY HOUSE(2019), HOME SWEET HOME(2020). This production is led by an all-East Asian team composed of members from Japan, Korea, and China.
