Éala Productions in association with The White Bear presents “Shades of Pemberley/Black Girls Love Austen too".
Blanche, aged 13, travels from a village in Cameroon to the streets of Paris where she develops an obsession with “Jane Austen”. Blanche escapes her life as a stateless child through the television screen where she can disappear into the world of Georgian England. The words of Jane Austen become Blanche's new obsession and a means to transcend her own life.
"Shades of Pemberley/Black Girls love Jane Austen too” is a one act drama by Elizabeth Moynihan with Sybille Werhli, directed by Clara Onyemere, with Sound and Music by Fergus Cahillane.
