The White Bear Theatre is based above the stylish White Bear Bar, Restaurant & garden.
We have very competitive hire rates, and will often agree on box-office splits and offer rehearsal space.
A zone one, well equipped theatre, 2 minutes from Kennington tube (three stops from Leicester Square) housed within the stylish White Bear Bar and restaurant. The space enjoys state of the art sound proofing ( no noise from the bar) and is air conditioned. We enjoy good audience numbers (and industry attendance ) because of the comfort and location of the venue which boast delicious food and a warm welcoming atmosphere.

The theatre space is located on the 1st floor. Get in access is through the main pub. Larger back entrance for larger set elements.
Bringing your show to our venue
We will advise on the most effective way to realise your production from early development to opening night and beyond. Founder and Artistic Director Michael Kingsbury’s production experience encompasses fringe, number one touring, and west end and he lectures on ‘How to Put On Show’ at leading drama schools including RADA and E.15. We realize putting on a show can be daunting which is why we like to advise and support companies that make their work at the white Bear at all stages of the production's evolution.
We will assist you with your PR and Marketing campaigns and actively promote your show via our social media channels and substantial local and national database. You will also have access to our press list which boasts over 1000 press and industry contacts.
Finding an affordable and available rehearsal space can be difficult so we offer free space for longer runs and low rentals for shorter ones.
We mostly programme new work (whether script-based or devised) physical theatre and occasional revivals. Whether it’s a small production, or a comedy night, we are the perfect spot for any event.
We are proud to provide state-of-the-art technology and equipment, making us the perfect venue for any occasion.
